End the Reign of Pain

Oath of an Medical Anomaly

I can’t describe how it feels to begin each day, half-asleep, caught in the last whisper of a dream wrapping your skin in bliss, feeling that last fleeting instance of freedom inside your flesh. And then you wake. And it begins.

It’s…impossible to capture with mere consonants and vowels. So we have no words to be our ambassadors, no ability to verbalize the pound of flesh stripped daily from our skin. Doors are slammed in our faces as we’re cycled endlessly from hospital to doctor’s office to specialist to clinic and back. Boots of indifference grind down on our fingers as we attempt to reach through the cracks in our Healthcare System.

Marginalized by a society unable to understand us, we’re condemned to be nameless gladiators swallowed by Darwin’s chessboard jungle. We’re ignored, missed + dismissed, belittled, scorned, and dehumanized. Countless people suffer in silence, are forced to go on working with bodies and souls that are breaking because the alternative is living on the streets.

There is no safety net to catch us when we’re falling far beyond the brink of human suffering. That ends now. This is my oath to you:

I Will Be Your Voice. I will bleed with you through the bad days, and blaze with you through the good ones. I will fight until we stand united as #TheUnbroken, are #IgnoredNoMore and change the attitude of the entire Healthcare Industry.

But I’ve never presumed myself to cause a revolutionary, or try to start a movement before. Up until now, I barely presumed to call myself human.

All I have is what I know: my blog/confessional genxwhy.wordpress.com, my friends and family, various stories + testimonials, my research, my writing, my passion, my professional background in Marketing, Project Management, Broadcast Media and Film/TV Production, and desire to shine a long-overdue spotlight.

So I’m trusting my gut and doing the only thing that will catch a piece of all our souls to share with those unknowing. I’m making a movie. More than a movie or a traditional documentary, it’s an homage to all voices heard and unheard, awake and silenced.

So please, share our call to arms at YouTube, find us on Kickstarter, like our Facebook page, Follow us on Twitter. Or, you can Contact Me at theunbrokenanomaly@gmail.com. All our voices deserve to be heard, not just mine.
